Gwen Wilmes

Gwen Wilmes has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology industry. Gwen is currently working at Obsidian Therapeutics as the Vice President of Analytical Development since July 2022, and previously as the Senior Director of Analytical Development from April 2020 to August 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Process Analytical Development at Editas Medicine from May 2017 to April 2020, and as the Director of Analytical Development at Dimension Therapeutics from August 2014 to April 2017. Gwen also gained valuable experience at Excelimmune, Inc., where they worked from December 2009 to August 2014, starting as a Research Scientist and progressing to the role of Director of Molecular Technologies. Finally, they began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UCSF, where they worked in Christine Guthrie's lab from 2004 to November 2009.

Gwen Wilmes earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Amherst College from 1993 to 1997. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Ph.D. in Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, from 1997 to 2003.
