Senior Director, Conservation Support at Ocean Conservancy

Tracy Parsons has extensive work experience in the field of conservation and environmental policy. Tracy is currently employed at Ocean Conservancy as the Senior Director of Conservation Support. Prior to this role, Tracy held the position of Senior Director of the Executive Office at Ocean Conservancy. Tracy also served as the Director of Program Development at the same organization from December 2015 to July 2019. Before joining Ocean Conservancy, Tracy worked as a Budget Analyst at NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration from November 2014 to December 2015. Tracy was responsible for managing budget requests and collaborating with various departments and agencies. Tracy also served as a Budget Analyst at the U.S. Department of Commerce from July 2013 to November 2014, where they oversaw the review and approval process for a substantial budget portfolio and collaborated with NOAA program staff. Prior to their roles in budget analysis, Tracy worked as a Program Analyst at NOAA, Coral Reef Conservation Program (CRCP) from October 2007 to July 2013, where they managed the annual budget planning and prepared materials to communicate program goals and priorities. Tracy's earlier experience includes working as a Policy Analyst at The Clark Group LLC from September 2003 to September 2007, where they completed various environmental grant proposals and provided strategic planning and program development. Tracy also worked as a Watershed Researcher at Cook Inlet Keeper from May 2002 to August 2002, conducting water quality assessments and training volunteers. Tracy began their career as an Education Associate at Population Connection from February 2000 to August 2001 and as a Marine Ecology Teaching Assistant at The School for Field Studies from June 1999 to December 1999.

Tracy Parsons completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology, with a focus on Marine Sciences, from the University of Maryland in 1999. Prior to that, Tracy attended The School for Field Studies from an unspecified start year to 1997, where they pursued studies in the Center for Marine Resource Studies. Later on, Tracy obtained a Master's degree in Environmental Management from Duke University, attending from 2001 to 2003.
