Ethan Edson has a diverse work experience in the field of ocean diagnostics and research. Ethan co-founded Ocean Diagnostics Inc. in 2019 and served as the CEO and later as the CTO before becoming the CEO again in 2023. Prior to this, they served on the Challenge Selection Committee for the Conrad Challenge in 2022. From 2015 to 2019, Ethan worked as a Research Engineer at Northeastern University, where they led the development of an automated microplastic sampling device. Ethan also worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Three Seas Program, teaching various aspects of oceanography. In 2013, Ethan worked as a Research Technician at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, focusing on harmful algae blooms and developing environmental sample processors. Ethan also completed a research program with SEA Education Association in 2013, focusing on marine biodiversity and conservation efforts. Ethan Edson attended Northeastern University from 2010 to 2015, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Marine and Environmental Science. In addition to their degree, they also obtained certifications during their time at the university. Ethan became an AAUS Scientific Diver through the American Academy of Underwater Sciences in May 2015. Ethan also obtained an Open Water SCUBA Certification from SCUBA Diving International (SDI) in 2015.
