Carl Kingsford is the co-founder and CEO of Ocean Genomics. Carl was previously an assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Maryland. Carl has a PhD in biology from Stanford University.
Kingsford's research focuses on the genomics of marine organisms, including the development of new methods for DNA sequencing and assembly. Carl has also done work on the evolution of Sea Anemones. In 2012, they were named one of the top young innovators by MIT Technology Review.
Carl Kingsford has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Duke University.
