Natalie Waters

Civil Engineer & Design Thinker at Oceanit

Natalie Waters has been working in the engineering and design fields since 2003. In 2003, they began working as a Research and Development Assistant for The Shepherd Color Company, where they assisted the lead chemist in conducting quality control testing and experiments in research and development of new paints and coatings. In 2006, they began working for 360Water as a Water & Wastewater O&M Course Writer, where they developed and finalized water and wastewater treatment equipment courses for plant employees. In 2007, Natalie began working for Oceanit as a Civil Engineer & Design Thinker. In this role, their responsibilities included engineering planning, feasibility studies, water system and coastal design, water budgets, environmental permitting, phase 1 dam analysis, site inspections, construction oversight, and water quality monitoring and analysis. Natalie also aided in Design Thinking Strategy at Oceanit and with clients, helping organizations implement Design Thinking throughout the State of Hawaii by facilitating and coaching workshops, bootcamps, and project focused group sessions. In 2014, they began working for Design Thinking Hawaii as a Facilitator. In 2015, they began working for Open Space Yoga as a Yoga Teacher, teaching classes to students of all ages and levels, adapting the poses for each student's needs.

Natalie Waters obtained a PADI Rescue Diver certification from PADI in July 2000. Natalie then attended The Ohio State University from 2002 to 2007, where they earned a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a focus in Civil Engineering.
