Emily Smith

Emily Smith has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Emily began their career as the Director of Student Services and Registrar at Lenoir Community College in 2007 and held this position until 2013. Emily then joined Strata Information Group as a Senior Consultant, where they played a pivotal role in increasing team throughput and value delivery through collaboration with engineering teams. Emily prioritized feature requests, translated user pain points into user stories, and led discovery sessions with leadership and power-users at colleges and institutions across the U.S. In 2018, Emily joined Softdocs as an Agile Business Solutions Consultant and later transitioned into the role of Product Owner. During their time at Softdocs, they demonstrated strong skills in product ownership and agile methodology. Most recently, they joined Ocelot as a Product Owner and later became a Product Manager. With their extensive experience in product management and agile methodologies, Emily brings valuable skills and expertise to their current role at Ocelot.

Emily Smith obtained a Master's Degree in Academic Psychology from East Carolina University during the period of 2008 to 2010. Following this, they pursued a Graduate Certificate in Sociology at Appalachian State University from 2010 to 2011. Earlier, they had received a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from North Carolina State University between 2002 and 2003. Additionally, Emily Smith has obtained certifications in the Agile Scrum Framework. Emily became a Certified Scrum Master through the Scrum Alliance, although the specific years of their enrollment are not provided. In 2021, they also obtained the Certified Scrum Product Owner certification from the Scrum Alliance.
