Julie Vails

Dr. Julie Vails is the Co-Chief Medical Officer responsible for providing medical executive leadership and guidance to the development, implementation, and management of all ambulatory and acute care clinical and health IT systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHRs), Telehealth, Mobile Health and other HIT systems. Dr. Vails provides clinical consulting services, supports OCHIN's population health, data analytics, and research teams and works in close partnership with Dr. Scott Fields, OCHIN's Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Vails has extensive experience leading inpatient, ambulatory, emergency, and community healthcare organizations and physician groups in transformational change, physician engagement, and organizational alignment. She is a Certified Physician Executive and an Epic Certified Physician Builder with expertise in Epic electronic health record adoption, optimization, governance, training, and data analytics. Dr. Vails is board certified in Clinical Informatics and Family Medicine and holds an Executive MBA. She practiced Family Medicine and Obstetrics for eight years in her private practice before transitioning full-time to Clinical informatics.
