Alistair Frier has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Alistair retired from Ex-Oclaro in 2018 and worked as a Reliability Engineer at OCLARO from 2014. Prior to that, they served as the Business Development Manager at Teledyne Labtech from 2007 to 2013. Alistair's longest tenure was at Bookham Technology (Formally GMMT Caswell), where they held the position of Chief Product Engineer from 2002 to 2007. Alistair worked on a range of opto electronic products and was responsible for improving yield and implementing configuration control. Before that, they served as Chief Product Engineer at GEC Marconi Materials Technology from 1990 to 2002. Alistair started their career at GEC Hirst Research Centre, where they held various roles including GaAs Test Leader, Group Leader Bulk Silcon CMOS, and Engineer, Silicon on Sapphire Device Physics. Alistair began their professional career as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at Southampton University from 1980 to 1983.
Alistair Frier obtained a BSc degree in Electronics from the University of Kent from 1972 to 1975. Following this, they pursued a PhD in Electronics at the University of Southampton, completing their studies from 1976 to 1982.
