Laila Deane

Laila Deane is an experienced mental health professional with a strong background in counseling and support services. Currently serving as an Individual Counselor and Substance Abuse Counselor at October Road, Inc. since January 2023, Laila facilitates recovery groups while providing individual counseling. Prior experience includes a role as a Mental Health Counselor at Thriveworks, focusing on individual therapy utilizing cognitive-behavioral and dialectical-behavioral techniques, and as a Recovery Education Center Clinician at Meridian Behavioral Health Services, where Laila conducted assessments and led skills classes. Earlier positions include Ministry Coordinator at Haywood Pathways Center, assisting homeless individuals in transitioning to permanent housing, and a Residential Counselor at Eliada Homes, where Laila provided therapeutic support to adolescents facing trauma and life challenges. Laila holds a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University at Buffalo.
