Chantal van Son

Chantal van Son is a Data Scientist specializing in advanced data analysis, natural language processing (NLP), and artificial intelligence (AI) within the context of disability care at Odion since January 2024. As a PhD student in Computational Linguistics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam since September 2015, Chantal focuses on developing and utilizing datasets for NLP technology, particularly in recognizing different perspectives in text, while also teaching Python for Text Analysis to undergraduate and graduate students. Prior experience includes working as a Data Scientist at OKRA.ai from November 2019 to October 2023, where Chantal developed AI solutions for decision-making in life sciences, and as a Research Assistant at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam from November 2011 to July 2015, contributing to various research projects related to modeling subjective information in text. Chantal holds a Master of Arts in Linguistics and a Bachelor of Arts in Dutch Language and Culture from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, as well as a Gymnasium degree in Nature & Health from Bonhoeffer College Castricum.
