John Snell

John Snell is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in workforce development and leadership training within the naval shipyard sector and related fields. Currently serving as the Senior Program Manager for Maritime Trades at the ODU Virginia Modeling, Analysis, & Simulation Center, John is responsible for overseeing the maritime trades strategic architecture. Previously, as the Director of Training and Workforce Development at NAVSEA, John led workforce development initiatives for over 36,000 naval shipyard personnel and acted as a subject matter expert. Earlier roles at Norfolk Naval Shipyard included Workforce Development Superintendent and various leadership positions that focused on training and development for thousands of employees. John’s background is supported by a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling with a focus on Executive Leadership from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Excelsior University.
