Dominic Talbot has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Dominic started their career as a Technical Support Engineer at Maxtec in 1996, gaining experience in storage and networking. Dominic then worked as an IT Technical Trainer at Executrain South Africa, providing technical and development training to customers.
Dominic joined Maxtec again as a Technical Consultant in 1999, where they worked until 2000. Dominic then moved to Sagitta Performance Systems as a Technical Consultant, focusing on building and improving the IBM storage business. During this time, they identified a market gap for remote support of storage devices.
In 2004, they joined Glasshouse as a Software Development Manager and Primary Architect. Dominic was responsible for managing software development projects and serving as the primary architect.
Dominic returned to Maxtec in 2006, this time as a Technical Director. In this role, they acted as a technical subject matter expert and mentor throughout the sales cycle, focusing on business development, customer engagement, and solution design. Dominic also led the development of Kraken, a software platform for vulnerability scanning and IT asset discovery.
Dominic then worked at Accordant Solutions Ltd. as a Lead Technical Consultant, providing technical design authority and blueprint development for clients' cloud-based services and migration projects. Dominic also worked on developing a technical engagement model for a large telecom client and a white-labelled public cloud provider.
In 2017, Dominic joined Maylem Grey as a Lead Technical Consultant, where they served as the technical lead for the development of a telephony tender for a government organization.
Most recently, in 2019, Dominic joined Ofgem as the Head of Architecture, where they are currently working.
Dominic Talbot completed their Senior Certificate, Matric from St Davids Marist Inanda between 1983 and 1994. Subsequently, they pursued a degree in Computer Science, earning a BSC from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika from 1997 to 2000.
