Arturo Casal has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering and water management. Arturo started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Abertay Dundee, where they provided technical consultancy for a sustainable drainage project in Spain. Arturo then joined the University of Exeter - Northumbrian Water Ltd. as a STREAM Research Engineer, focusing on delivering resilient and sustainable wastewater services. During this time, they published research papers and presented their work at national and international conferences. Casal then worked at AECOM as an Engineer, where they developed asset management strategies for UK water companies and worked on drainage and wastewater interventions. Currently, they are employed at Ofwat as a Principal Performance Insights Specialist, utilizing their expertise to drive performance improvements in the water sector.
Arturo Casal holds a Doctor of Engineering (EngD) degree in Water Engineering from the University of Exeter, which they completed from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Urban Water and Environmental Management from Abertay University from 2009 to 2010. Arturo also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from Abertay University, completed from 2008 to 2009. Arturo'seducational journey started at Universidade da Coruña, where they earned a degree in MEng Civil Engineering, specializing in Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos, from 2001 to 2008.
