Wouter Helthuis has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Wouter started their career as a Summer Intern at Damsté advocaten - notarissen in 2010. From there, they worked as a Parliamentary Assistant (VVD) at Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal from November 2012 to August 2017. Wouter then joined ABN AMRO Bank N.V. and held two roles: Corporate Governance Officer from November 2019 to February 2021, and Secretary Global Risk Committees from November 2017 to November 2019. In 2021, they worked as Bestuurssecretaris a.i. at Invest-NL from February to October, and as Deputy Company Secretary a.i. at APG Asset Management from October 2021 to August 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Company Secretary & Corporate Counsel at Oikocredit, starting in September 2022. Throughout their career, Wouter has gained experience in corporate governance, legal counsel, and secretarial responsibilities.
Wouter Helthuis began their education at Bataafs Lyceum, where they completed their VWO degree from 1999 to 2006. Wouter then went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Dutch Law at the University of Groningen from 2006 to 2010. Afterward, in 2010, Wouter participated in an exchange program at the University of Wisconsin Law School. Later, they returned to the University of Groningen to pursue a Dual Master's degree in Civil and Corporate Law, which they completed from 2011 to 2014. In 2013, Wouter attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for a summer school in Beijing, undertaking a course on The Global Economy.
