John Lewis

John Lewis has an extensive work experience in the field of oncology and biotechnology. John currently holds the position of Bird Dogs Chair in Translational Oncology and Professor at the University of Alberta, where they have been working since 2012. John has also served as the Frank and Carla Sojonky Chair in Prostate Cancer Research and Associate Professor at the same institution.

In 2016, John Lewis founded and served as the CEO of Entos Pharmaceuticals, a company focused on developing nucleic acid-based therapies using a proprietary drug delivery system. John also founded and served as CEO of Aegis Life, Inc., a biotechnology company, starting in 2020.

John Lewis has been involved in several other biotechnology companies. John founded OncoSenX in 2018 and held the role of Founder and Chief Science Officer. OncoSenX focuses on targeting solid tumors using a unique gene therapy platform. In 2017, they founded Nanostics Inc., a healthcare biotechnology company specializing in non-invasive diagnostic tests. John held the role of Founder and CEO at Nanostics Inc.

Prior to these ventures, John Lewis worked as the CSO at Oisin Biotechnologies, focusing on technologies to address age-related diseases. John also served as the CEO of Innovascreen Inc, a company involved in drug discovery and development.

In terms of academic experience, John Lewis worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Western Ontario and held the position of Robert Hardie Chair in Translational Prostate Cancer Research at the London Health Sciences Centre.

Additionally, John Lewis has been actively involved in the Alberta Prostate Cancer Research Initiative since 2012, where they served as the Founding Chair. The initiative aims to translate innovative prostate cancer research into clinical practice and has several ongoing trials.

John Lewis completed their BSc HONS in Genetics at Western University from 1989 to 1993. John then pursued their Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the University of Victoria, graduating in 2003. Following this, they attended Scripps Research from 2003 to 2006, where they obtained a PDF degree in Nanotechnology and Imaging.
