Jon Ryder has held various roles in the paper and packaging industry throughout their career. Jon started in 1999 at Carter Holt Harvey as a Product Development Manager and R&D Manager at the Kinleith Mill. Jon then moved on to become the PM6 Business Unit Manager at the Kinleith Mill from 2002 to 2004. From 2004 to 2006, Ryder served as the Mill Manager at Tasman for Carter Holt Harvey. Jon then joined Australian Paper Pty Ltd in 2006 as the General Manager of Tasmanian and Shoalhaven Mills. In 2007, Ryder joined PaperlinX, where they held several roles, including Group General Manager of Printing and Publishing Papers, Group General Manager of Manufacturing Strategy, and Group General Manager Corporate Strategy. In 2012, they returned to Carter Holt Harvey as the CEO of Pulp & Paper and later became the CEO of Pulp, Paper, and Packaging until 2014. Finally, Ryder joined Oji Fibre Solutions in 2014 as the CEO.
From 1985 to 1992, Jon Ryder attended The University of Manchester. During this time, they pursued a Ph.D in Pulp & Paper Science with a focus on Wood Science and Wood Products/Pulp and Paper Technology.
