John Hanson is the Senior Director of Special Projects at Oklo. John has a wealth of experience in the field of engineering, having interned at BP and the American Nuclear Society, and worked as a research fellow for the Department of Energy's Office of Science. John's focus on corrosion research has led him to develop a deep understanding of hydrogen embrittlement of high performance engineering alloys. John has used this knowledge to inform the design of improved alloys, and their work has been published in numerous prestigious journals. John is a dedicated and innovative engineer, who is always looking for new ways to improve the products and processes they work on.
John Hanson attended Saint Charles Preparatory for high school. John then went on to The Ohio State University where they earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.S. in Economics. Finally, they attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where they earned their PhD in Nuclear Science & Engineering.
