Jevgenijs Tjutrins

Jevgenijs (Jev) Tjutrins is a skilled organic chemist with extensive experience in both academic and industrial settings. Currently serving as Lead Organic Chemist at Olpha Global, Jev's previous roles include Postdoctoral Researcher at McGill University, where research focused on designing SARS-CoV-2 inhibitors and synthesizing target scaffolds. At Suncayr, Jev developed synthetic routes for dithienylethene derivatives and optimized large-scale production processes. A member of the NSERC CREATE in Green Chemistry network, Jev gained insights into the intersection of chemistry and business challenges. Jev completed a Ph.D. in chemistry at McGill University, specializing in transition metal catalyzed reactions and multicomponent synthesis, following a B.Sc. in chemistry from Latvijas Universitate. Additional experience includes conducting research at the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis and teaching in Latvia.
