Diandra Fernando has extensive work experience in human resources, spanning various roles and responsibilities. Diandra started their career as a Head Porter at York University in 2011. Diandra then went on to work as a Business Support Officer in Records Management at CIBC in 2013. Subsequently, Diandra held several positions at York University, including Don of Leadership and Learning Opportunities and Senior Resident Assistant. In these roles, they managed and coached teams, recruited staff, facilitated programs, and provided support to students. Diandra also had a Summer Internship at CIBC as a Business Support Officer in Records Management. Diandra later joined CIBC as a Human Resource Associate in HR Consulting, where they conducted research, coordinated recruitment processes, and managed HR reports. Diandra then transitioned to OLG, where they served as a Human Resources Associate, Human Resources Business Partner, and most recently, as a Senior Manager and Director of HR Business Partnering. Their experience at OLG includes building trusting relationships, overseeing HR functions, and providing strategic guidance for business needs. Diandra is recognized for their resourcefulness, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and expertise in employee relations and business management.

Diandra Fernando completed their high school education at Cambridge High School, where they pursued IGCSE and AS Levels as part of the British Program. Diandra then went on to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management (Honors) from York University. In addition to their formal education, Diandra has acquired several certifications, including the Business Agility Foundation (ICP-BAF) from Global Knowledge in 2023, the Accessibility for Ontarian's with Disabilities Act (AODA) from the Ontario Human Rights Commission in 2013, the Conflict Mediation Certificate from York University in 2013, the SafeTalk (Suicide Prevention) Certificate from the Centre for Suicide Prevention in 2013, and they are also a graduate of the LeaderShape Institution from LeaderShape, Inc. in 2013.
