Stacey Thorpe has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Stacey is currently the Global Head of Payroll and Transformation at Oliver James since November 2020. Prior to that, they worked at JD Sports Fashion plc as the Group Head of Payroll from February 2019 to October 2020, and also as an HR Change Manager from June 2018 to January 2019. Stacey has also worked at CoreHR as a Senior Implementation Consultant from July 2017 to June 2018, and as a Payroll Implementation Consultant from September 2016 to July 2017. Before that, they were an Implementation Consultant and Project Manager at SD Worx UK & Ireland from July 2013 to September 2016. Stacey also has experience working at Manchester United Football Club, Bench, Payquest Group Ltd, ITV, Challenger Sports, and BNY Mellon in various roles related to payroll, project management, and administration.

Stacey Thorpe's education history began at North Manchester High School for Girls, where they completed their GCSE's, including Maths, English, and Science, from 1996 to 2001. Stacey then attended Manchester College from 2001 to 2003, where they studied A Level Art and obtained a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts. Following that, they pursued a BTEC National Diploma in E Business at Manchester College of Arts and Technology from 2003 to 2004.

In 2004, Stacey attended the Institute of Payroll and Pensions Management for a year, where they focused on Foundation in Payroll and Pensions Administration. Later, in 2013, they enrolled in the Pensions Management Institute to acquire a Certificate in Pensions Automatic Enrolment.

In terms of additional certifications, Stacey obtained an Executive Mini MBA Accelerator from In Professional Development (InPD) in November 2023.
