Sam McKewon

Sam McKewon is an experienced sports journalist currently serving as Sports Editor and Columnist at the Omaha World-Herald since April 2011. In this role, McKewon coordinates daily coverage of the Nebraska football team and women’s basketball, collaborates with photographers and editors, and meets tight deadlines for reporting. Prior to this position, McKewon was an Editor/Content Manager at New Digital Group from October 2008 to April 2011, where efforts included launching and managing an independent Nebraska athletics website. Earlier experience includes an Analyst role at Perot Systems Government Services, where McKewon began in customer service in 2004. McKewon holds a degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, having attended from 1996 to 2001.
