Jed Scala has a diverse work experience that spans several industries and roles. Jed began their career as a Studio Manager and Production Coordinator at Eric Meola Studio, Inc. In 1993, they joined Berkshire School as a Faculty Member. Jed then founded Scala Associates in 1995, where they served as the Founding Principal until 1998.
In 1998, Jed joined American Express, where they held various general management, marketing, and digital roles until 2006. During this time, they also worked as the VP & GM for OPEN Small Business Credit Cards & B2B Payments Development, where they turned around the credit card portfolio. Jed was later promoted to VP & GM for OPEN High Value Customer Relationship Marketing & B2B Spend, focusing on driving business growth and customer loyalty.
Jed returned to American Express in 2012 as the General Manager & SVP for various divisions, including U.S. Consumer Credit Card & Lending, Chief Marketing Officer & SVP for PLENTI, and VP of Loyalty & Digital Innovation.
Jed then joined Fifth Third Bank in 2017 as the EVP & Head of Payments & Commerce Solutions, responsible for delivering a significant portion of the bank's revenue. In 2019, they transitioned to the role of EVP, Head of Consumer Products & Enterprise Payments, where they oversaw all consumer deposit, payments, and lending products.
Most recently, Jed joined OneMain Financial in 2020 as the Chief Marketing Officer.
Jed Scala holds an MBA in Management of Organizations from Columbia Business School and a BA in English & Art from Williams College. Jed also attended Berkshire School and the United Nations International School, although no specific degrees or fields of study were mentioned.
