Monty Kerson has a strong background in animation, with experience at various companies in the gaming industry. Monty currently works at Omni Creator Products as the Lead Animator since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Squanch Games as a Lead Animator from June 2022 to January 2023, and as a Senior Animator from December 2021 to June 2022. Before Squanch Games, Monty held the position of Senior Creature Animator at Guerrilla Games for four years, from September 2017 to September 2021. Monty animated creatures for the game Horizon Forbidden West and collaborated closely with design and AI teams. Monty also has experience at Oculus VR as a Senior Animator from October 2015 to August 2017, where they animated creatures for the VR game Farlands. Monty worked on prototyping and problem-solving, adapting to new technologies. Prior to that, Monty worked at Turtle Rock Studios as an Animator from December 2011 to October 2015, animating creatures for the game Evolve and developing collaboration skills. Monty'sfirst employed role was at ArenaNet, where they worked as a Cinematic Animator for Guild Wars 2 from December 2008 to December 2011. Monty specialized in prototyping new cinematic techniques and resolving challenges under tight deadlines.
Monty Kerson pursued their education in the field of animation, focusing on advanced body mechanics. From 2014 to 2015, they attended Animation Mentor. Prior to that, in 2010, they briefly studied character animation for games at FuturePoly. Monty's education began in 2006 when they enrolled at the DigiPen Institute of Technology, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Production Animation, completing their studies in 2010.
