Matt Francis

Matt Francis is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in performance engineering and asset management within the renewable energy sector. Currently serving as the Lead Performance Engineer at Omnidian since May 2022, Matt is responsible for establishing a fleet analytics team and platform. Previously, at The D. E. Shaw Group, Matt held the role of Fleet Performance Analytics Lead Engineer and Asset Manager for solar assets in Arizona. Matt's career also includes significant positions at First Solar, where responsibilities ranged from functional management of performance modeling teams to risk reporting for executive leadership. With a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, holding both a Master of Science degree from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University, Matt has a rich history of engineering roles in various companies, including Stirling Energy Systems, Pacific Scientific Energetic Materials Company, and Raytheon.
