Tara Thieme has a diverse work experience background. Tara is currently working as Counsel, Commercial, IP & Litigation at ON24 since February 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP as an Associate from September 2013 to February 2022. In this role, they served as temporary in-house counsel at a data/analytics/media startup client, where they developed and executed an IP strategy, managed the intellectual property portfolio, and drafted and negotiated intellectual property agreements. Tara also advised on intellectual property issues in mergers and acquisitions and conducted due diligence assessments.

Before joining Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, Tara was the Student Editor-In-Chief at the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal from March 2012 to May 2013. Tara also interned for the Honorable Judge Thomas Pender at the U.S. International Trade Commission from September 2012 to December 2012, where they conducted research, drafted memos, and assisted in drafting orders and initial determinations on cases involving electronics, software, communication devices, and design patents.

Tara's earlier work experience includes being a Summer Associate at Christie, Parker & Hale, LLP in 2012, a Patent Agent at Roberts Mlotkowski Safran & Cole P.C., USA from February 2011 to May 2012, a Patent and Licensing Department Intern at Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation from August 2009 to August 2010, and a Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from May 2008 to May 2010. Tara also had an international internship experience at Central Japan Railway Company from May 2009 to August 2009 and worked as an intern at Thermo Fisher Scientific in the Raman Product Group from November 2007 to June 2008.

Tara Thieme began their education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2005 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering with a focus on Organic Chemistry. Later, they attended The George Washington University Law School from 2010 to 2013, obtaining a Juris Doctor degree specializing in Patent Law.
