Paul Novotny

Paul Novotny has worked in the software engineering and machine learning field for over 20 years. In 2021, they began working as a Principal Machine Learning Developer for Onc.AI. From 2017 to 2021, they worked as a Principal Research Engineer, Computer Vision and Machine Learning for RightHand Robotics, Inc. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as a Debian Maintainer for Debian. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a Principal Engineer for SimQuest, where they focused on C++ software development, image processing, augmented reality, tool and hand tracking, and was a Principal Investigator on NIH funded Phase I and Phase II SBIR grants. From 2009 to 2012, they were a Co-Founder and Principal Investigator for Revolute Biomedical, LLC. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as an Associate Scientific Researcher and Post Doctoral Research Fellow for Children's Hospital Boston. Lastly, from 2001 to 2007, they were a Senior Software Engineer for Epic.

Paul Novotny's education history includes a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University, which they obtained between 2002 and 2007. Prior to that, they obtained an M.S. in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University in 2000. Paul also holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they obtained between 1995 and 1999.
