Terri Burns

Terri Burns is the Founder and General Partner at Type Capital, focusing on pre-seed and seed investments for exemplary founders, a position held since May 2024. Currently, Burns serves as a member of the Board of Trustees at New York University, contributing to various committees including Audit and Compliance and Online Education and Technology, since September 2021. As a Strategic Advisor at Day One since April 2023, Burns continues to influence the venture capital landscape. Previously, Burns held the title of Partner at GV (formerly Google Ventures) from October 2017 to October 2022, achieving recognition as the youngest-ever partner, and served as Principal on the investing team. Burns is also a graduate of the Kauffman Fellows program (Class 24) from June 2019 to June 2022, an initiative aimed at developing future venture capital leaders. Earlier career experience includes being an Associate Product Manager at Twitter, part of the company's inaugural Associate Product Management class. Educational credentials include a degree in Computer Science from New York University and attendance at Phillips Exeter Academy.
