Igor Poliakov's work experience begins in 2005 at TNK-BP, where they worked as a Marketing Analyst, collecting and analyzing information on the oil market and providing support for the trading process. Igor then moved on to become the CEO of Analytical Agency DMC in 2009. In 2012, they joined Prom.ua, one of the largest Ukrainian marketplaces, as the Head of the Data Science Team, where they started as the first and only data scientist in the company. In 2015, Igor became a Data Science Manager, Ph.D. at OneDome, an online PropTech platform. Their responsibilities at OneDome included building and managing a data department, data project management, collecting and processing external data, developing data models and processing pipelines, and researching data-related projects.
Igor Poliakov obtained their Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications from the National Technical University of Ukraine 'Kyiv Polytechnic Institute' in 2003. Igor later earned a Ph.D. degree in Telecommunications from the same university.

Additionally, Igor completed the BP program for improving skills in marketing through bp in June 2008 and an International oil trading, pricing, and risk management course from Channoil Consulting Limited in May 2007.
