Nick is the Founder and CEO of Neptune Snacks, a mission-driven snack food brand specializing in sustainable ocean snacks. In this role, they focus on diversifying the American seafood market and offering responsibly sourced seafood as delicious and nutritious snacks.
In addition, they are a Co-Founder of SeafoodCollab, a group of seafood and aquaculture producers committed to environmental and social responsibility. Nick supports like-minded business ventures and believes in the strength of collaboration.
Nick also serves as the President of the Board of Directors at Quivira Coalition, an organization that facilitates regenerative agriculture for ecological, economic, and social health. Nick works with the staff and board members to achieve organizational goals and partnerships.
In terms of their academic background, Nick worked as a Project Researcher at Stanford University, focusing on sustainable tuna feeds and Great White Shark tagging. Nick also served as a Teaching Assistant for a research-intensive Stanford program, conducting advanced oceanography and marine biology research projects both on land and at sea.
Furthermore, Nick has experience as a Private Consultant at Monterey Bay Aquarium, where they provided expertise in their field. Nick Mendoza pursued their undergraduate education at Stanford University from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Human Biology and Environmental and Marine Resources. In 2011, they participated in the Stanford at SEA Research Program at Hopkins Marine Station, focusing on Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography. As part of their undergraduate studies, they also pursued international/global studies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain in 2010.
Following their undergraduate studies, Nick pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Sustainable Aquaculture at the University of Stirling from 2013 to 2014.
Additionally, Nick has obtained relevant certifications in the field. Nick obtained Scuba Open Water Dive (SSI) certification from Scuba Schools International in April 2010. Furthermore, in September 2012, they acquired US Food Handler/Management certification from ServSafe Certified.
