Karen Guadarrama

Karen Guadarrama, M.A. has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Karen is currently the Director of Secondary Partnerships at OneGoal since December 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Venture Fellow at Colorwave from September 2021 to December 2021. From 2017 to 2021, they worked at Universidad Popular, where they held the role of Program Coordinator, leading various youth development initiatives including We Code Juntos and We Bike Juntos. Karen also served as a Families Learning to Teach (FLT) Facilitator during the same period. From January 2021 to June 2021, they worked as a Chinese Studies Program Assistant at DePaul University. Previously, they were a Corps Member at Jumpstart from 2014 to 2016. Karen also worked as an International Student Experience Exchange Mentor at DePaul University from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, they have experience as a Substitute Teacher at Erie Neighborhood House, a J at School Counselor at JCC Chicago, a Reading Tutor at Enlace Chicago, and a Research Intern at Little Village Environmental Justice Organization, all in 2014.

Karen Guadarrama, M.A. has a diverse education history. Karen began their academic journey at Lindblom Math and Science Academy, where they obtained their high school diploma in 2013. During high school, they also participated in the University of Chicago's Early College Program, focusing on Chinese Language.

In 2016, Karen pursued their interest in Chinese Language and Literature by attending Fudan University, where they earned a certificate in the field. Karen later returned to Fudan University in 2015 to participate in their Chinese Language Summer Program, further enhancing their knowledge in this area.

Continuing their education, Karen attended DePaul University from 2013 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese Studies with a minor in ESL Education.

In 2018, Karen obtained a certification in Community Health Worker from Sinai Urban Health Institute. The following year, they obtained a Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention certification from Resilience, demonstrating their commitment to supporting individuals in crisis situations.

Most recently, Karen pursued a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership - Higher Education from Northeastern Illinois University, which they successfully completed in 2021.
