Heather M. Porter-Light

Heather M. Porter-Light has extensive experience in various administrative roles with the Oneida Indian Nation, beginning as a Government Relations Assistant in 2002 and progressing to positions such as Public Affairs Specialist and Contract Administrator before currently serving as Unemployment Administrator since July 2012. In the role of Unemployment Administrator, Heather M. Porter-Light conducts thorough research on employee terminations and prepares formal written responses to unemployment insurance claims for the New York State Department. Additionally, prior responsibilities included ensuring the accuracy of contract terms, assisting legal staff with research, planning high-profile charitable events, and managing the department's budget and social media presence. Heather M. Porter-Light earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Legal Studies and Criminology from SUNY Empire State College and an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Paralegal Studies from Herkimer County Community College.
