Olivier Vermeersch

Senior Aerodynamics Engineer at ONERA

Olivier Vermeersch serves as a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer at Onera since October 2009, specializing in laminarity technology, where significant contributions include developing transition criteria for CFD solvers, conducting RANS and LES simulations, and designing innovative laminar lifting surfaces and nacelles. Olivier has also created and validated various transition control devices and played a key role in experimental campaigns and flight measurement analysis in collaboration with industry leaders like Airbus and Dassault Aviation. Involvement in European research programs includes acting as a point of contact for laminarity projects within AFLoNext and CleanSky initiatives and managing scientific activities and budgets for the BuTERFLI project. Additionally, Olivier has served as a spare lecturer at ISAE-SUPAERO from 2006 to 2020, delivering lectures and tutorials on various aerodynamics topics. Olivier holds a PhD in Fluid Dynamics from ISAE-SUPAERO and has degrees in Research Master and Master of Engineering from ISAE-ENSMA.
