Serena Mandla

Serena Mandla has had a diverse range of work experiences. Serena is currently working at Noa Therapeutics as the CSO. At this company, they aim to disrupt the convention of a one-size-fits-all approach to disease treatment. Prior to this, they worked at the Ontario Bioscience Innovation Organization as a Program Manager.

From 2019 to 2022, Serena was the Chief Scientific Officer at Quthero, Inc. Here, they played a crucial role in the clinical translation of a biomaterial for wound healing and cosmetic applications. Serena also interned at Pueblo Science, where they designed an electronics science kit for high school students in the Philippines and engaged in material procurement. At Royal Laser, Serena worked as an Intern Engineer, designing and manufacturing sheet metal products for retail clients and managing a team.

Serena Mandla has an educational background in biomaterials and biomedical engineering. Serena completed their Masters of Applied Science degree at the University of Toronto, specializing in this field. Prior to their master's degree, Serena obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science, with a focus on biomedical/medical engineering, also from the University of Toronto. Their undergraduate studies took place between 2012 and 2017. Before attending university, Serena graduated from Newmarket High School, where they earned their Ontario Secondary School Diploma in 2012.
