Michelle Mason, CHRL has over 12 years of experience in human resources and risk management. Michelle began their career as a Human Resources/Research Assistant at the Innovation Institute of Ontario in February 2009. Michelle then worked as a Human Resources Coordinator, responsible for various HR tasks. In October 2015, they became a Human Resources Manager, overseeing HR operations. Michelle joined the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research in May 2011 as a Human Resources Coordinator and later became a Human Resources Advisor. Michelle then transitioned into risk management, serving as a Risk and Compliance Manager and Senior Manager. Currently, they are the Associate Director, Risk and Compliance at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research, where they develop risk frameworks and promotes effective risk mitigation and compliance.
Michelle Mason, CHRL has a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General, which they obtained from Ryerson University between 2004 and 2008. In 2019-2020, they pursued a Risk Management Certificate at the University of Toronto. Additionally, Michelle has obtained various certifications, including Fundamental Project Management in May 2017, RIMS Professional Member in December 2021 from RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.), and a Certified Human Resources Leader certification from HRPA - Office of the Registrar. Furthermore, they have completed the Leading a Mentally Healthy Workplace Certificate from Morneau Shepell, Mental Health First Aid from the Mental Health Commission of Canada, and a Workplace Investigations Certificate from HRPA - Human Resources Professionals Association.
