Rob Williams

Rob Williams has extensive work experience in the field of data engineering and technical leadership. Rob currently works at ONYX Insight as a Data Engineer since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Rolls-Royce for over 20 years in various roles. As a Data Engineer at Rolls-Royce, they played a key role in data ingestion and engineering tasks, contributing to the development of an analytics application on the Azure platform. Rob also took on the role of Technical Lead (Civil Digital) where they worked on reducing data ingestion time and identifying security risks. In previous roles as a Technical Architect (Civil Services) and Technical Lead (Civil Services), they focused on defining architectures, identifying security issues, and guiding project managers in agile development. Rob also worked as a Lead Developer (R2 Data Labs) where they designed and created the first Aerospace containerized service at Rolls-Royce, resulting in significant cost savings. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Software Engineer at Rolls-Royce.

Rob Williams attended the University of York from 1997 to 2001, where they obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electronic Engineering.
