Tom Middendorp

Tom Middendorp has extensive experience in defense and climate security, currently serving as Chairman of the International Military Committee on Climate and Security and as Special Envoy for European Defense Cooperation at the Ministerie van Economische Zaken en Klimaat. Additional roles include Vice President of the Supervisory Board at Oorlogsgravenstichting, Senior Associate Fellow at The Clingendael Institute, and Special Strategic Advisor at The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies. Middendorp also contributes as a member of the Board of Advisors for both the Center for Climate and Security and the Nationale Veteranen Begraafplaats Loenen. Prior experience includes leadership positions such as CEO of the PPS-project Landelijke Opschaling Corona Sneltestcapaciteit and chairing Stichting Open Nederland. Educational credentials include attendance at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Hogere Militaire Vorming, and the Royal Military Academy.
