Robert Smiley

Robert Smiley is an experienced Application Engineer currently employed at OPEN MIND Technologies AG since December 2022. Previously, Robert served as both Application Engineer and Owner at RMS Machine Tool Engineering LLC from January 2022 to December 2022, and held the position of Application Engineer at DMG MORI USA from June 2013 to January 2022. Robert started a career in manufacturing as a Tool & Die Maker at Reliance Tool & MFG from April 2008 to June 2013, where expertise in machining parts using manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, OD and ID grinders, and CNC vertical mills was developed. Robert holds an Associate in Applied Science degree in Industrial Manufacturing Technology from Elgin Community College, completed between 2008 and 2013.
