Shama Khan has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Shama is currently serving as the Vice President and Treasurer of OPEN Silicon Valley, a voluntary non-profit organization promoting entrepreneurship. Prior to this, they worked as a Community Preservation Specialist for the City of Newark, California. Shama also held the position of VP Event Logistics & Operations and Volunteer Recruitment at Opensv, where they focused on promoting entrepreneurship and business leadership in the Pakistani-American community. Additionally, Shama has experience as the President and CEO of Ustadonline.com, where they showcased their leadership and management skills. Shama has also worked as the General Secretary of OPEN Silicon Valley and as a Drought Specialist for the City of Milpitas. Earlier in their career, they served in planning and zoning roles for the City of Orinda. Shama Khan has held the position of Vice President at Arshco for a significant period of time. Shama Khan attended The Catholic University of America from 1996 to 1999 and earned a Masters of Architecture degree. From 1999 to 2002, Shama Khan studied Construction Management at Laney College. In 2011, Shama Khan completed a program called "The Complete Permit Technician" at the Sacramento Valley Association of Building Officials.
