Jakub Pachocki

Jakub Pachocki has worked in multiple companies, including Facebook, Harvard University, and OpenAI. Jakub started as a Software Engineering Intern at Facebook in 2011 and 2012. Then, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University in 2016. In 2017, they moved to OpenAI, where they worked as a Research Lead for the Dota team. In 2019, they became the Research Lead for the Reasoning Team, and in 2021, they took over as the Research Lead for the Science of Deep Learning. Most recently, in November 2021, they became the Principal of Research at OpenAI.

Jakub Pachocki received their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Warsaw in 2013. From 2013 to 2016, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University.
