Joseph Abel began their career in 2004 as a Researcher/Writer for Let's Go, where they traveled 8,500 miles around Oregon preparing a new edition of the Let's Go: Pacific Northwest budget travel guide. In 2006, they worked as a Summer Analyst for Cornerstone Research. In 2007, they became an Associate Consultant for Bain & Company, researching markets and building models to develop forecasts to address key strategic questions and help clients make better decisions. In 2009, they were a Special Projects Manager for Sungevity. From 2013 to 2019, they worked at Sungage Financial, Inc. as Director of Business Intelligence and Vice President of Operations. Currently, they are Head of Product and Head of U.S. Product at OpenSolar, working to lower the cost and increase the adoption of solar energy with the goal of slowing and ultimately reversing climate change.
Joseph Abel attended Harvard University from 2003 to 2007, where they earned an A.B. in Economics with a focus in Environmental Science & Public Policy. Joseph then attended Harvard Business School from 2011 to 2013, where they earned an M.B.A. in Energy and Entrepreneurship.
