Katherine Skovira is an accomplished vocalist and educator currently serving as a Faculty Fellow at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute since January 2023. Simultaneously, Katherine is a Discovery Grantee with OPERA America and has been the Co-Artistic Director and Co-Founder of SoundLAB, a contemporary music ensemble, since 2018. Katherine's extensive experience includes serving as the Endowed Chair in Voice and Opera Studies at Willamette University and performing significant roles such as Angelina in Rossini's La Cenerentola with the Opera Company of Brooklyn. An active performer, Katherine has collaborated with various institutions, including the New England Conservatory and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, showcasing works by notable composers such as Ives, Cage, and Rands. Katherine holds multiple degrees in music, including a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s Degree from Westminster Choir College.
