John Hird

John Hird is an accomplished violist with extensive experience as both an extra violist and a freelance musician. Currently serving as an extra violist for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Mozart Players, British Sinfonietta, Opera North, Hallé Concerts Society, and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, John has built a diverse portfolio in orchestral performance. Additionally, John has worked as an orchestral strings tutor since July 2011 and held a position as a sessional instructor with Services For Education in 2015. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Viola from the Royal Northern College of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Viola from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Earlier employment includes roles in concert stewardship and bar service at Town Hall and Symphony Hall Birmingham.
