Ken Knowles is a seasoned software developer with extensive experience in environmental data systems and programming. Currently employed at Operational Systems Inc since June 2006, Ken has contributed to NOAA's Comprehensive Large Array-data Stewardship System (CLASS) by developing a Long-term Architecture Plan in line with OAIS-RM standards. Prior to this role, Ken served as the Lead Programmer at the University of Colorado's National Snow and Ice Data Center from 1989 to 2005, managing a team of ten programmers and overseeing various data processing projects. Ken's earlier career includes roles as a Scientific Programmer at NSIDC, a Computer Systems Analyst at Pacific Sierra Research Corporation, a Member of the Technical Staff at GTE Government Systems, and a Software Engineer at General Dynamics, where significant contributions were made to various complex systems. Ken holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder.
