James Brown has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. James has held various roles in different organizations.
From 2019 to the present, James has been the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Opportunity International Australia, where they also acted as the Acting CFO from 2018 to 2019.
In 2014, James started their own consulting firm, Stacey Brown Consulting, and served as the Principal.
Before that, from 2015 to 2018, they worked as a Principal Consultant at Mackenzie & Noble Consulting.
Starting in 2009, James joined ChargePoint Pty Ltd as the National Manager/Business Leader, responsible for establishing the company as a prominent electric vehicle infrastructure provider. James successfully led the business's growth until it was sold in 2012.
In 2008, James worked as a Consultant/Interim CFO at Stacey Brown Consulting, where they were also engaged in resolving a dispute over management fees.
Prior to that, from 2006 to 2008, James served as the Chief Financial Officer of Babcock & Brown Power. James played a significant role during the company's listing and subsequent large-scale takeover.
In 2006, James worked as an Interim CFO for Acreis Australia, a start-up financial services company.
From 2003 to 2005, they held the position of CFO at Foodland Associated Limited, overseeing various finance-related functions.
In 2003, James worked briefly as an Interim Chief Financial Officer at Interleasing, implementing a reorganization of the finance function.
Lastly, from 2000 to 2003, they served as the Chief Financial Officer of GE Commercial, focusing on integrating finance teams and developing consistent financial strategies.
James Brown attended Barker College from 1973 to 1979. James then pursued a Bachelor of Business degree with a specialization in Accounting at the University of Technology Sydney from 1980 to 1985. In 2017, they completed the CPA Australia Program, earning a Diploma of Financial Planning in the field of Finance and Financial Management Services.
