Philip Williams has over 30 years of work experience in the engineering field. Philip began their career in 1988 as a Senior Engineer at Ferranti Computer Systems, where they were involved in the development of the 2050 Onboard Trainer, Kalman Filtering, and Sonar Modelling. In 1994, they joined DERA as a Senior Scientist (SSO), where they worked on Passive Classification Research using Knowledge Based Systems, Sonar Data Fusion, and Magnetic Silencing. In 2001, they moved to Ultra Electronics Command and Sonar Systems as a Sonar Processing Design Authority, where they were responsible for Sonar Acoustics Engineering, Sonar Processing Systems Architect, Software Team Leader for embedded software radio link for Watchkeeper project, Project Management, and Sonar DSP algorithm development. In 2017, they became a Consultant Engineer at BAE Systems, and in 2020 they joined OptaSense as a Senior Software Engineer.
Philip Williams attended King Edward VII School Lytham from 1972 to 1979 and then went on to pursue a B.Sc. in Music And Physics Joint Hons. at Keele University from 1979 to 1982.
