Daniel Barr has a diverse work experience in the field of chemistry and biochemistry. Starting in 2006, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Arizona State University until 2011. Following this, they became a Graduate Teaching Associate at the same university until 2011. From 2011 to 2016, Daniel worked at Utica University as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry, teaching general chemistry, introduction to organic and biochemistry, biochemistry I and II, biochemistry lab, medicinal chemistry, and other advanced courses on a rotating basis. During this time, they also conducted research on sequence-specific DNA-binding by proteins, peptides, and small molecules. In 2015, Daniel was promoted to the role of Associate Professor, where they continued teaching and research activities until 2016. From 2016 to 2023, they worked at the University of Mary as an Associate Professor, specializing in chemistry. In addition to teaching responsibilities, Daniel helped establish and oversee the SURVE program and secured external funding for facility improvements and research projects. In 2023, they joined Optibrium as a Senior Application Support Scientist.
Daniel Barr completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry at Barrett Honors College. Daniel pursued further studies at Arizona State University, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry.
