Avery Bellis has a diverse range of work experience. Starting in 2013, they worked as a Rock Climbing Lifeguard and Belayer at Adventure Recreation at the Activities and Recreation Center UIUC. In 2014, they worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2015, Avery joined Kimberly-Clark as a Product Development Engineer, where they assessed and analyzed monthly consumer complaint data, managed consumer complaints to meet goals, and defended the consumer's experience. They also worked as an Engineering Intern in Front End of Innovation for Poise at Kimberly-Clark, where they compiled historical research, identified new approaches to improve performance, and communicated the results to the company. Avery then went on to pursue a Graduate degree in Engineering Design Innovation at Northwestern University from 2016 to 2017. In 2017, they completed an internship as a Mechanical Engineer Intern at Optimal Design. Avery re-joined Optimal Design in 2018 as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer before transitioning to the role of Senior Mechanical Product Design Specialist in 2023.
Avery Bellis obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Systems and Design from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they attended from 2010 to 2014. In 2012, Avery also pursued a brief period of study in Engineering at Universidad Pontificia Comillas. Later, from 2016 to 2017, Avery acquired a Master's degree in Engineering, Design, and Innovation from Northwestern University.
