Stephen Chan

Stephen Chan is a Senior Software Engineer at Optimatics since June 2021, specializing in the design and development of HPC control plane services for hydraulic modeling optimization workflows and a unified optimization modeling data store. Previously, Stephen held various software engineering roles at Amazon from August 2017 to June 2021, focusing on scalable natural language and speech recognition model orchestration for Alexa, as well as supply chain optimization systems. Prior to Amazon, Stephen worked as a Water Resources Engineer at SMEC from January 2008 to January 2017, providing consulting services in stormwater management and hydraulic modeling. Early career experience includes C/C++ software development at Measurement Engineering Australia and research assistantship at the University of Adelaide, complemented by a dual degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Finance from the same institution. Additionally, Stephen completed a coding bootcamp at Hack Reactor in 2017.
