Ben Orchard is a Senior Application Engineer at Opto 22 since April 2008, specializing in the R&D of new technologies and advanced proof of concept mashups, such as groov, Node-RED, and MQTT. Prior to this role, Ben worked as a Building Automation Engineer at Ballarat Health Services, overseeing automation connected to Opto 22 with a significant number of SNAP-PAC controllers, and gained experience as a Computer Field Service Technician at Standard Telephones and Cables, focusing on board-level repairs and customer service for PCs and peripherals. Ben is also an Inductive Automation Ignition 7.9 Core Certified professional and contributed as an Automation Specialist for James Cameron's Deepsea Challenger submarine expedition.
