Michael P. McRae

Michael P. McRae is an accomplished consultant with a strong focus on AI, machine learning, and health technologies. Currently serving as a consultant at Custom DX Solutions since May 2016, and in an engineering role at Oraliva, Inc. since January 2022, Michael has developed smart diagnostics aimed at early disease detection. As a co-founder of Custom Diagnostic Solutions, LLC and Portable Diagnostic Systems LLC, Michael has contributed to the advancement of in vitro diagnostic devices. With a background as a visiting scholar at New York University - College of Dentistry and extensive research experience at Rice University, Michael has led hardware and software development efforts, mentored junior researchers, and created educational courses in bioinstrumentation and biophotonics. Michael's initial internships at NASA and the National Space Biomedical Research Institute involved engineering and modeling work that contributed to understanding health risks in space missions. The educational foundation includes a PhD in Bioengineering from Rice University and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Saint Louis University.
